Quin-Mo-Lac’s Leadership Program
The Counsellor in Training program is a 2-week leadership program for youth, ages 15-16 years as of December 31, 2025, who are:
· Genuinely interested in children and camping
· Energetic, positive, and caring
· Motivated to learn and develop solid counselling and leadership skills
The first week of the program is devoted to sessions involving parenting skills, communication, camp operations and programming, and discussion of faith. The second week is the practical application of counselling children. A major part of the CIT program is Bronze Medallion swim training. The intense structure of the water program plays a part in the character building of a well-rounded CIT.
Specifically, Quin-Mo-Lac’s CIT program provides participants with:
· Two weeks of accommodation and food
· Valuable leadership training and hands-on, counselling experience
· Instruction and certification in: Emergency First Aid with CPR-B and Bronze Medallion (value $275 for both)
· CIT graduation ceremony and certificate of accomplishment
· Invitation to the following summer’s staff/volunteer training week (for successful CIT graduates)
· CITs who already have their Bronze Medallion will have a chance to earn their Bronze Cross swimming certification
